Genealogy
The genealogy department contains approximately 4,385 books which cover 80 counties (out of 120) in Kentucky. These books are census, wills, deeds, marriage, cemetary, and other miscellaneous records.
The genealogy department also houses about half of the states in the U.S. and these also contain within the states, different counties. The books are just like the Kentucky counties in that they are census, wills, etc.
There are about 456 family histories and numerous family file folders, along with approximately 626 general or miscellaneous books. We have death certificate records that start in 1911 and go through 1958 for the state of Kentucky. A copy of these are available upon request.
Research is done upon request as long as it is within reason and specific questions and needs are asked and specified. The fee for this research is $10 an hour plus the cost of copies and postage.

Online Resources
The library provides access to HeritageQuest Online and Ancestry Library. HeritageQuest can be accessed either at the library or from your own home with the use of a library card as your identification. When accessing HeritageQuest from your own home, either follow this link or go to Resources and Services at the top of any page and choose HeritageQuest Online. You will be asked for a barcode to connect. Please use the 14 character code found on the back of your library card.
Ancestry Library can only be accessed from the computers in the genealogy department. Patrons will need to ask for a user-name and password to access one of the computers.
