SUMMARY:Books at the Bar — “Incidents Around the House”
DESCRIPTION:This month we are reading “Incidents Around the House,” by Josh Malerman for Books at the Bar. We will next meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at Hopkinsville Brewing Co., 102 E. Fifth St.\nA limited number of copies of the book are available for check out at the HCCPL Front Desk.\nBooks at the Bar is a casual book discussion group for readers ages 18 and older. Didn’t finish the book? No problem. Didn’t like the book? You probably aren’t the only one! Want to share your big feelings about a different book? We are all ears.\n——————\nTo eight-year-old Bela, her family is her world. There’s Mommy, Daddo, and Grandma Ruth. But there is also Other Mommy, a malevolent entity who asks her every day: “Can I go inside your heart?”\nWhen horrifying incidents around the house signal that Other Mommy is growing tired of asking Bela the question over and over, Bela understands that unless she says yes, her family will soon pay.\nOther Mommy is getting restless, stronger, bolder. Only the bonds of family can keep Bela safe, but other incidents show cracks in her parents’ marriage. The safety Bela relies on is about to unravel.\nBut Other Mommy needs an answer.\nIncidents Around the House is a chilling, wholly unique tale of true horror about a family as haunted as their home.\n
