Position: Adult Services Librarian
Hours: 40 hours

Summary: The Adult Services Librarian provides programming for adult patrons, develops services for this age level, conducts computer instruction for the public, and performs specialized tasks related to providing reference services for adults. The Adult Services Librarian interacts with the public and other staff members. Duties may require independent judgment and action within specific parameters. This position will develop and manage the adult collection, excluding the DVD collection. The
Adult Services Librarian will research new trends and materials that will interest the diverse community in this age demographic.

Position: Library Assistant
Hours: 20 or 32 hours

Summary: This position serves the Hopkinsville and Christian County Public Library. As a member of the circulation and reference department, you will be the first point of contact for patrons who use the library. The successful candidate must like working with people and enjoy helping them; have excellent customer service skills; take pride in doing a job well, whether it is solving a complicated problem or performing a routine task; is confident and friendly with interpersonal interactions; is resilient and understanding when working with the general public.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in volunteering at HCCPL, come to the library front desk to fill out a volunteer application. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, creating materials for programs, decorating the library for programs and/or holidays, and helping run stations at programs.
