Summer Reading 2024: June 1st – July 13th

Join us on an adventure through reading as we explore the world through books. From sea voyages to climbing mountains, this year will be filled with exciting journeys! So come along our Summer Reading 2024 Program, “Adventure Begins”. The fun will kick off with a party at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 1st at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.

In the following weeks, we will host all kinds of exciting programming tailored to our theme such as a Science Show and Magic Show. We are pleased to announce we also will host some unique guests during our program including Friends of Land Between the Lakes and Smokey the Bear, and a performance by Miss Calliope about nature and the great outdoors!

Our Summer Reading program will conclude with a foam party finale at 10-11 a.m. on July 13th.

How It Works

To participate in our Summer Reading Program, all readers must be registered. Registration can be completed in-person at the HCCPL Front Desk. The form also can be accessed online, here.

Participants will be divided into the following categories based on age:

After registration is complete, be sure to pick up a reading log to start tracking your hours. Summer Reading Logs can be collected from the HCCPL Front Desk. You can also download the logs here.

To track the hours, you read during our Summer Reading Program, color in a box on your reading log for every hour you read. You’ll receive a prize bag and a raffle ticket for the first five hours completed. For every five hours read after that, you will earn a raffle ticket. When you have read ten hours total, you will receive a plush toy and a raffle ticket. Prizes will be raffled off at the finale July 13th. To claim your prize bag and raffle tickets, bring reading logs to the HCCPL Front Desk.

All reading logs must be redeemed by July 12th

Our librarians have been hard at work collecting all kinds of goodies and prizes to reward those who participate in our Summer Reading Program. During our finale, July 13th, we will raffle off a variety of prizes for each age group. Check this page for updates on what these prizes will be.

Raffle prize winners will have until July 22 to collect their prizes, or it will be redrawn.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I earn and claim my rewards?

• Everyone must have their own log sheets. These logs need to be returned in person to the library in order to claim goal reward.
• The rewards differ for each age group.
• Raffle will be drawn on July 13th and winners have until July 22nd to claim their prize or it shall be redrawn.
